Church Connections Project
The
Mission:
To come alongside churches in ways that support their efforts to
honor the God-given dignity and giftedness of persons with
disabilities,
helping them build relationships that alleviate isolation and enrich
the church community.
The
vision: On a regular basis, teams of persons sponsored
by Bridge Ministries (made up of persons with disabilities and others)
meet with a church community to provide disability awareness and
educational seminars, theological reflection, in-depth leadership
training on pastoral care skills and strategic planning and mentoring
of church leaders in order to help the church reach its vision for
enriching its church community.
Components
of the Project:
- Consultant/Presenter Team(s) working directly with Churches
- Specialized Support Library:
- Provides specialized resource materials related to church
and community inclusion issues
- Available for use by: Bridge staff, Core team, consultant/presenters,
Circles of Friends facilitators, partnering churches, Bridge
volunteers and Board members
