Church Connections Project

The Mission: To come alongside churches in ways that support their efforts to honor the God-given dignity and giftedness of persons with disabilities, helping them build relationships that alleviate isolation and enrich the church community.

The vision: On a regular basis, teams of persons sponsored by Bridge Ministries (made up of persons with disabilities and others) meet with a church community to provide disability awareness and educational seminars, theological reflection, in-depth leadership training on pastoral care skills and strategic planning and mentoring of church leaders in order to help the church reach its vision for enriching its church community.

Components of the Project:

  • Consultant/Presenter Team(s) working directly with Churches
  • Specialized Support Library:
    • Provides specialized resource materials related to church and community inclusion issues
    • Available for use by: Bridge staff, Core team, consultant/presenters, Circles of Friends facilitators, partnering churches, Bridge volunteers and Board members

How to get involved? If you would like to explore more about our Church Connections Project or how your church could form a church connections partnership with Bridge, e-mail our Interim Chaplain, Rev. Dr. David Emery at ChaplainI@bridgemin.org
