Disabilities may be permanent, isolation doesn't have to be. Volunteers make the difference!



  • Relational Opportunities

    Friend-to-Friend - visiting one-on-one with a person who has a disability.

  • Circles of Friends - become part of a small gathering of individuals who build a relationship with a person who has a disability to celebrate his or her life.

Mobility Ministry Opportunities

The Mobility Ministry accepts donated durable medical equipment which volunteers clean, repair and distribute to persons who cannot afford to purchase their own. The right equipment gives the person mobility, independence and connection in the community.

  • Equipment Repair - light repairing of wheelchairs, walkers, electric carts, shower benches, etc.
  • Equipment Washing - washing and disinfecting equipment
  • Van Drivers -- picking up equipment which is being donated to Bridge
  • Inventory Assistants - sort equipment, assist with inventory and store in warehouse ·
  • Parts Chaser - chasing down parts in the warehouse or purchasing parts for repair volunteers
  • Lead Person for Group Equipment Washes - orient groups on Bridge's ministry and orient and support groups as they participate in an Equipment Wash

Support Opportunities

These volunteer roles will give you opportunities to use your specific skills and interests to support and enhance Bridge's ministry. You will also work in a supportive environment with Bridge staff and other volunteers and be showered with words of praise and gratitude (and often times with cookies or the like!)

  • Front Desk Receptionists - answer the phones and greet office visitors
  • Office Assistants - put together packets, photocopying, filing, data entry, miscellaneous projects
  • Mailing Volunteers - label and fold newsletters and stuff envelopes for various mailings
  • Graphic Artists - graphics and layout for flyers, brochures, etc.
  • Marketing - help us tell the Bridge story and make strategic connections in churches and in the community
  • Resource Library Volunteers - be a part of establishing and maintaining this one-of-a-kind library. Visit Library Volunteers for more information.
  • Fundraising Volunteers - direct your passion for Bridge's ministry and your skills in helping to promote Bridge and the financial well-being of our organization. Choose the activity which best suits you: coordinating a fundraising event, hosting a gathering in your home, making phone calls, writing letters, making presentations, etc. As a fundraising volunteer you will be supported by our Resource Development Committee.
  • Speaker's Bureau - skilled public speakers, who are knowledgeable and passionate about ministry with persons who have disabilities and Bridge Ministries, make presentations in churches and various community gatherings. Orientation and mentoring is available from Bridge staff.
  • Video Recording - use your gifts to capture the essence of various Bridge activities and events on videotape.
  • Painters, Carpenters, Yard Work - assist in sprucing up the Bridge Office or the home of a person who has a disability.

Social events play a huge role in adding to our quality of life. Because of the isolation many persons with disabilities encounter, social events carry even greater weight. Social events also play a major role in the life of a non-profit organization that seeks to bring its constituents together to celebrate and support the work of the organization.
